Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP)

Northwestern Polytechnic collects student information under the Post-Secondary Learning Act (s. 65) and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (s. 33 a and c) for the purpose of administering the student and institution relationship.

Application Information

The information provided on the Application for Admission and any other personal information collected and maintained as part of a students record will be used for the purposes of admission, registration, graduation, issuing income tax receipts, scholarships and awards, educational verification and for college research and planning. Certain personal information will also be disclosed to Statistics Canada as required by the Statistics Act (Canada), Alberta Advanced Education and Technology to meet reporting requirements, and by agreement, to the Students Association and Alumni. This information is collected pursuant to the Post-Secondary Learning Act and Statistics Act (Canada). The information provided will be protected under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act of Alberta.
